Wellington School of Business & Government achieves AMBA re-accreditation confirming itself in the top 2% of business schools

Wellington School of Business & Government, Victoria University of Wellington has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in postgraduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students, and recent MBA alumni of Wellington School of Business & Government are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in over 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

The Wellington School of Business and Government, part of Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, offers a robust curriculum focused on business and public policy. It benefits from strong ties with the business sector and government institutions, leveraging its location in New Zealand's capital city to provide students with unique learning opportunities and career prospects. The school is also known for its high-quality research and commitment to fostering global engagement and innovative thinking among its students and faculty.

During the AMBA accreditation process, the panel members, representing senior management at global business schools, commended the school's responsiveness to student's needs, citing the decision to move EMBA delivery to Friday and Saturday as evidence of this.

The panel was also impressed by how open and transparent the school was in the discussions and written materials – as well as an excellent base room.

Professor Jane Bryson, Dean, Wellington School of Business and Government, says “AMBA are integral to ensuring the future relevance and leadership of our EMBA programme”.

AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and consider changing trends and innovation in postgraduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation and demanding business schools to perform at the highest level continually.

Andrew Main Wilson, CEO of AMBA & BGA, said: “I am so delighted that the Wellington School of Business and Government has achieved this re-accreditation. The school is clearly innovating to meet the needs of the students – and in doing so is creating more value for them. I look forward to working with this prestigious school in the future.”
