UPF Barcelona School of Management, Pompeu Fabra University, officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA/Msc students and recent MBA/Msc alumni of UPF Barcelona School of Management are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 55,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. AMBA’s rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
UPF Barcelona School of Management was founded in 1993 and the School offers master’s degree programmes and non-degree programmes. AMBA accredits the executive MBA and the Master of science in Management at the School.
Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the quality of international partners and double-degree options on offer at the School, as well as its commitment to international networks and accreditation.
The panel noted that there were many interesting projects and activities on-campus centred on social responsibility and culture. The faculty were commended as being ‘enthusiastic and committed’.
Recent advances in research, which had a particular focus on industry, were also noted by the panel.
Oriol Amat, Dean of the UPF Barcelona School of Management said: ‘We are very proud to know that the AMBA-accreditation of the School has been endorsed by the International Accreditation Advisory Board (IAAB) of AMBA & BGA. It will help us in our journey to become an internationally recognized School of Management with social impact. I would like to congratulate all the UPF Barcelona School of Management staff, faculty, students, companies and alumni involved in this great achievement. We look forward to working with AMBA & BGA in the near future.’
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘I am delighted that the prestigious UPF Barcelona School of Management has become a member of our Business School network, which includes only the top 2% of Business Schools globally. I would like to congratulate everyone at the School who worked towards this accreditation. I look forward to working with this School in the future.’
