Imperial College Business School has revamped its Master’s In Management programme to better cater to future leaders and empower them with the skill sets needed to make a meaningful difference in business and society
The redesign of the programme reflects Imperial College’s wider aim of continuing to develop agile, innovative and resilient future leaders who can make a positive impact in today’s society.
The updated programme will unify the business school’s existing MSc in Management with the MSc in International Management, merging the best features of both programmes to equip students with the core business and management concepts essential in today's dynamic international marketplace.
Participants will develop the skill sets needed to accelerate their careers in consulting and finance, alongside a broad range of other sectors. The programme aims to help accelerate early career success and prepares students to become business leaders.
Through the new MSc in Management degree (MiM), participants will be able to choose from more than 30 elective courses, designed to prepare them for the demands of future industry. The programme has a strong focus on leadership development plus practical learning, combining academic theory with applied learning and real-life business case studies, as well as engaging with external companies through consulting projects and placements. Participants will also benefit from Imperial’s excellence in technology, building skills through software simulations and immersive learning.
Commenting on the new programme, James Eteen, senior teaching fellow & academic director of the MiM, said: “In a rapidly changing world, where volatility, uncertainty and instability are daily challenges businesses need to overcome, prospective employers want our students to have resilience and adaptability skills, as well as leadership qualities”.
“This programme gives future leaders the skill sets to tackle global challenges, as well as utilise new technologies such as AI and big data, which are increasingly in demand”.
The updated programme also places a huge emphasis on diversity and inclusion, bringing together a cohort from more varied professional, geographical and experiential backgrounds.
Flexibility and personalisation are other key focuses of the merged programme, giving students the opportunity to shape their own journeys; in addition, it will provide greater access to shared electives, as well as integrative modules during the summer term.
Participants also have the option to extend their programme to 16 months to complete longer internships or global exchange placements.
